Welcome to LJMS!
Our campus first opened in 1995 as Creekside Middle School, and in 2010 we became Lawrence E. Jones Middle School when the district’s two middle schools came together. Today, our focus is on learning and creating opportunities for every student to thrive. At LJMS, students can get involved in a wide range of programs; including band, drama, after-school sports, clubs, and exciting enrichment classes. We’re proud to offer something for everyone and to foster a community where students can discover their passions, build connections, and grow.

Principal, Merideth Keenan-Boggs
I began my career in education in 2010 as a math teacher after earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from Sacramento State, along with both a Multiple Subject and Single Subject Math credential. I joined Lawrence Jones Middle School in 2012 and taught here for nearly a decade before moving into school leadership. I was born and raised in Rohnert Park, and I am proud to serve the community that has always been my home. I have a strong passion for learning and for building meaningful connections with students, staff, and families. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with my family.
I am deeply committed to the Lawrence Jones community and proud to be part of our black and yellow tradition. I look forward to meeting you, so please stop by and say hello.

Who Was Lawrence Jones?
Our school is named after Lawrence E. Jones, a beloved public safety officer in Rohnert Park. For 28 years, including 18 as a school resource officer and DARE instructor, “Officer
Friendly” was known for his kindness, his ability to connect with students, and his dedication to keeping kids safe. He also coached school and community sports for over 20 years and
was honored in the Rancho Cotate Athletic Hall of Fame.
As Rohnert Park’s first African-American police officer, he inspired students by sharing his life experiences and encouraging them to make positive choices. He believed deeply in young
people and the difference they could make in their community.
At LJMS, we honor his legacy through our four cornerstones: Integrity, Perseverance, Discovery, and Service. These values guide the way we learn, play, and grow together;
just as Officer Jones modeled in his own life
