Principal Gottlieb

I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education. I am incredibly impressed by the passion, caring, and kindness of everyone with whom I have had contact. I am appreciative of the hard work I’ve witnessed of LJ office staff, teachers, custodial staff, and food service staff.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for over thirty years. I have worked with a variety of students ranging from preschool through high school in a variety of settings and roles. My most recent administrative experience was in a preschool-8th grade independent school in Marin for the last 14 years, where I served as the Director of Learning Resources responsible for special and gifted education, assessment, parent education, scheduling, and supervising faculty and staff who support the classroom teachers and programs. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an instructional leader to Lawrence Jones Middle School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by LJMS by building strong relationships with parents, students, district leadership, and community partners. We will focus on our four “Cornerstones” (Discovery, Integrity, Perseverance, and Service), Common Core skills, the use of data to inform teaching and learning, and provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in an engaging manner so we can continue to increase student achievement.

As your principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors - teachers, students, and parents - are excited to be here! I want us to work together to create a safe, positive, engaging and nurturing environment. My door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any questions you have throughout the school year.
