Three day camping trip. Camping skills and equipment, hiking skills, field observations, first field guide
Oregon Shakespeare Festival
Students will study, perform a scene, and view a Shakespeare play in Ashland, Oregon. Students will also attend a variety of plays and camp outside of Ashland, Oregon. Four day expedition.
Mount Lassen
Students will visit many geological features including volcanoes, lava tube, sulfur vents, and boiling pools. Here students gain firsthand knowledge about plate tectonics and the earth's structure, how the earth’s surface was shaped, and history. Students accomplish all of this while experiencing the stark beauty of the area (and maybe even get a little snow!). Corp of Discovery simulation. Four or five day expedition.

Art, natural history. Day trips.
Gold Country, Chaw'se
Students visit Chaw'se Campground and Indian Museum, Black Chasm, Kennedy Gold Mine, and Knight's Foundry in Sutter Creek. Three day expedition.
San Francisco Bay Odyssey
California Academy of Sciences, USS O'Brien & Pampanito, Trapeze Arts, Oakland Museum. Two day expedition.
STRAW
Every year ExL’s students go to a local creek location and, under the supervision of Point Blue’s Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed (STRAW) Program, spend a day restoring native plants to the area. Day trip.
Yosemite
Working with Nature Bridge: 8th Graders go backpacking, 7th graders stay in valley cabins. Six day expedition.
Monterey Bay Aquarium
6th, 7th, and 8th grade expedition. Monterey Bay Aquarium, overnights at Santa Cruz KOA, Point Lobos, whale watching, Monarch butterfly preserve, elephant seal watching at Ano Nuevo. Three day expedition.
China Camp State Park
6th, 7th and 8th grade expedition. Students will visit the Immigration Station at Angel Island, China Town, Shrimping Village. Three day expedition.
Human Race Fundraiser
The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations. Student walkers/runners/pledge-gatherers raise funds for various participating non-profit organizations.
Sugarloaf Ridge
Year-end ceremony, stewardship project. Three day expedition.
